How can I set up a new survey? (Step 1)

Modified on Fri, 25 Apr at 1:25 PM

Learn how to fill in all the fields correctly in the first step of your survey module.

After you have clicked on "Create new survey", a new window will open. In the first step (1. General) you will be asked to provide general information about your survey.

First, you must name your survey. You can add a description if you want.
Here you can change the status of your survey. While you are still in the initial setup phase of the survey, it should be set to "In Preparation". During the User Acceptance Test, you can set the status to "Testing". When the survey is set up to go live you can select "Active". Please note, once the survey is activated, you cannot revert its status to "In Preparation" or "Testing." However, if you need to make updates while the survey is active, you can create a sandbox environment to implement and test your changes before publishing them to the active survey (find details here).
Finally, the survey ends with the status "Completed".
Second, you can choose a survey type: Medical survey or Product survey.
⚠️ By default we recommend choosing Medical survey. In the specific case that you have already configured a product in the product module, you can select Product survey.
You also need to specify a survey coordinator. By default, this will be the user creating the survey.
Primary Language: Here you can set the language in which the buttons and other parts of the system language are displayed in the survey (e.g. "save" vs. "speichern" or dropdown input field).

All custom texts, including forms should be in this language. For multilingual surveys, translations into secondary languages can be added in step 6.

Please note that currently, English, German and Spanish are available as system languages.
Here you can enter a predefined minimum number of patients/participants in your survey. The number you choose will appear as a scale in your general survey overview. Here you can follow how many entries have already been entered into the system.

Click on "Access" in the bottom right-hand corner to get to the next step.
