Learn what you need to consider when configuring input fields.
All Fields | How can special characters be used within the input fields? ➜ Special characters can be displayed in every field within the display label. ➜ For the database and export label, a blank space (" ") and an underscore ("_") are displayed instead. ".$?&*[ ]/ |
Short Text | You can enter every kind of character into a short text field. Even though it is called "short" text, there are no limitations of characters. Example use case: |
Long Text | As the layout is more suitable for longer texts, you can use this for extensive descriptions. There is also no character limit. Example use case: |
Rich Text | The Rich Text is not an input field in the common sense because you cannot enter data in it. So these fields are also not shown in the data export (but you can see them in the PDF exports or the annotated PDF). You can use the Rich Text also for links, pictures, different kinds of headers etc. ⭐ Good to know: If you add links, they will also work in a PDF export. |

Date | Refer to this article about time zones in Climedo |
Partial date | In the partial date field, you can configure accepted date formats. When filling out the field, the user initially sees the most detailed format, but can switch between all selected formats if needed. ⭐ Good to know: The logic for notifications, validations, dependencies, automated queries and filters always accounts for the entire timeframe in which the event could have taken place. Example: If the partial date is "05/2022" and a dependency is set for "after 15/05/2022", then the dependency would also be triggered for the partial date. |
Date and Time | The user can enter a date and a time. |
Single Choice | The user can only select one option. The different value options will be shown below one another and can take up a lot of space in your input form. If you wish to add many options, think about using a dropdown instead to save space. |
Multiple Choice | The user can select multiple options. The different value options will be shown below one another and can take up a lot of space in your input form. |
Dropdown | The dropdown lets the user choose a single value from a selection of options. It is more space-saving than a single choice question, as the list of answer options must first be expanded. ⭐ Good to know: For each selection option in multiple choice, single choice and dropdown fields, you can configure a label and a value. The label will be shown to the user and appears in filters, dependency settings etc. The value can be alphanumeric and can be used for smart field calculations. You can add multiple options with both a label and a value by adding them in the following format: "Label;Value" In the export, you will be able to choose whether the label, the value or both in the format label(value) are exported. |
File upload |
⭐ Good to know: If newly created screenshots are to be uploaded into this field, there are differences between the two operating systems Windows and IOS:

Workaround
If you wish to use an image for answer choices (e.g. pictorial representation of the body – pain localization) we recommend adding the image as rich text and adding a regular multiple-choice or single-choice field next to this image.
