Using the widget on the dashboard

There are multiple ways to display the configured data. Here are the options:

Showing “All subjects” vs. “Single Subject Selection”: In the subjects dropdown you can decide which dataset to show, whether it should be the data of "all subjects" or if the data of a single subject should be highlighted.

Filtering: If enabled in the widget configuration, several filters can help break down the dataset to meaningful subsets or groups. Filters can be based on a data point that was collected in the eCRF or ePRO, e.g. gender, age group, cohort. In order to use the filter to gather relevant insights, it depends on whether 'all subjects' or a single subject has been selected in the subject dropdown above.

• If a single subject is selected, you can enable or disable one or more filters shown on the widget. If you enable a filter, it means only values are shown from subjects that match the subject's value. E.g., if the selected subject has the obesity level 2 and you enable the filter for "obesity level", you will see the progression lines of the selected subject and all other subjects that are at obesity level 2 as well.
• If "all subjects" is selected, you can select in the filter dropdown which groups to compare. In this case, you can compare the distribution of all subjects with obesity level 2 (shown in light blue lines) to the distribution of all subjects with obesity level 1 (shown in light grey lines).

The legend below the graph shows which data is being displayed in any case, depending on which filters you set.

"Apply to all" option: When hovering over the widget, "apply to all" will appear in the top right corner. When you click on it, the current configuration of the widget (i.e. subject selection and filter configuration) will be applied to every benchmarking and progression widget on every dashboard. This makes it easier to quickly compare data between subjects without having to redo the selection multiple times.

Save as PNG: You can see the download icon in the top right corner of the widget, next to the configuration icon, by hovering over the image. Clicking it will download the configurated widget on your desktop as PNG.

Configuring the progression widget

You can add a new progression widget via "+ Widget" at the top right of your dashboard or configure your settings by clicking on the settings icon (⚙️) in the top right corner of an already existing widget. Note that you'll only see this settings icon if you've been given the appropriate permissions.

Select the widget type "Custom visualization" and an input field (number, numeric smart field, slider, dropdown or single choice) which is repeated several times during different steps of your study e.g. a number field for blood sugar level. Then select the progression widget. You can set a static dataset filter by creating a smart filter in the subject overview and selecting it for the widget. This means that the data in the widget will be pre-filtered according to the filter logic you decided. This filter type cannot be activated or deactivated in the dashboard view, only users with access to the widget configuration can set or remove it.

The horizontal and vertical axis can be set automatically or you can customize the minimum and maximum values and the label of the axis.  Enable the option to sort or let the data be shown in workflow step order and set a reference value if required. Lastly, you can filter by information that was gathered for the subjects such as gender, age group, cohort or the subjects’ region, as well as the site. This filter can be freely activated or deactivated in the dashboard view by any user seeing the widget.
